IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR REGISTRANTS: Please monitor your e-mail inbox and any spam filter for future communications about the IALGBTQ+J Annual Meeting and Conference. We will send you updates via e-mail as we get closer to the event.
The Welcome Reception and the Closing Social Event (a fun trivia night led by drag queens Paula and Bev) are open to Association members and their guests. The Judicial Education Institute and the Annual Membership Meeting are open only to current members of the IALGBTQ+J.
This year’s Judicial Education Institute will be conducted in two regular sessions and one follow-up session. The first session is a timely panel titled “The World on Fire: The Role of LGBTQ+ Judges in Ensuring Racial Fairness and Justice Now” that will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020. This 75-minute panel will include an extra 60-minute follow-up session to be held on a future date approximately one month after the IALGBTQ+J Annual Meeting and Conference. The second session is a one-time panel titled “LGBTQ+ Access to Justice: A Roundtable on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Access to the Courts Initiatives” that will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020.
This year’s Annual Meeting and Conference will be held virtually with the assistance of the National LGBT Bar Association. Members are encouraged to register as judicial participants in the LGBT Bar’s Lavender Law Conference. For current members of the IALGBTQ+J, there is a special judicial rate of $200 for Lavender Law. Registered members of the Lavender Law Conference may participate in any of the forums, education programs, and social events sponsored by the LGBT Bar. For information about Lavender Law, including a registration link, please visit https://lgbtbar.org/annual/
If you only plan to participate in the IALGBTQ+J Annual Meeting and Conference and not Lavender Law, you still must register for Lavender Law using a special code that will be given to you free of charge. This code will enable you to have virtual access to the IALGBTQ+J Annual Meeting and Conference only and will be e-mailed to you closer to the dates of the Annual Meeting and Conference.
The above schedule for the Annual Meeting and Conference is subject to change.
