Honorable George A.W. Northrup
Serving on the bench from 1985 to 1997, Judge Northrup is remembered for his hard work and gentle nature. On his passing, the Wisconsin Law Journal wrote that Judge Northrup “was one of the fairest people to ever smack a gavel. Maybe it was because he was gay, he knew what it felt like to be hated, to believe that the system is biased against you, to be deprived of what you believe are basics rights.”
Judge Northrup’s partner of 24 years – Larry Small — preceded his death.
