Honorable Robert Andrew Muir

Master Rob Muir was the first openly LGBTQ master in Canada when he was appointed in 2009.  He was a valued colleague, admired mentor, respected leader and cherished friend on the bench.

Master Muir was a founding member of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations. He enjoyed attending Pride celebrations including Toronto Pride and – in 2019 – attended World Pride in New York City where he ended the night at a piano bar singing Frank Sinatra and show tunes.
